Nature Cat and company helps Gracie the Toad find a perfect place to hibernate for the winter.

Learning Goals[]
- Frogs and toads are both amphibians and they are similar in many ways, but they are also different in a few ways. To be completely accurate, toads are actually a classification of frog. That is to say that, technically, toads are a kind of frog.
- Generally, frogs spend most of their lives in or near water. Toads on the other hand, get out on land a little more and find their way into gardens and yards. Frogs also usually have moist slimy skin, while toads have dry bumpy skin. That is usually the best way to tell them apart.
- Know what animals hibernate; how do the animals know it is time to hibernate (changes to the environment); what actions do they take to get ready to hibernate.
Trivia[]
- One running gag is Nature Cat continuously calling Gracie a frog. At one point, Gracie is shocked that Nature Cat called her a "froad".
- Gracie's duet song with Mr. Frog called "Frog & Toad" is also on the Nature Cat CD The Green Album.
- In this episode, Gracie has a great singing voice, especially when she hit a high note at the very end of the first song.
- Throughout the episode, Nature Cat keeps calling Gracie a frog in a total of five times. Yep, count ‘em five!
- Mr. Frog appears again in a Nature Prize Surprise segment.
- There is one Modern Family episode that has the title of the same name.
